Piadine, Italian Flatbread, is how Mangia e Scappa came to be. Giulia has been preparing Piadine in her kitchen for over 20 years, feeding her family and friends. It was her desire to bring her family recipes, and Piadine, to the residents of Fort Langley and the Valley, that inspired the first location for Mangia e Scappa, a tiny closet-shaped box in Gasoline Alley, Fort Langley. From here she was able to start some wholesale distribution, and fortunate to have Caren McSherry of the Gourmet Warehouse, feature her Piadine on Global News. Currently you can find our Piadine at The Gourmet Warehouse, Luppolo Brewing Company, Greco Specialty Foods, Delitalia Fine Foods, and of course, here at Mangia e Scappa. These are made with Tipo 00 Flour. Piadine are such a versatile item. Make your favourite Panino, filled with Salumi, Arugula and Buffalo Mozzarella, or top with fresh ingredients, bake and enjoy a thin crust pizza! Cut into pieces to accompany your favourite appetizer, or top with Nutella for dessert. So many tasty options!
